Seja $M \in {\mathbb{R}^ + }$.
Ora,
\[\begin{array}{*{20}{l}}
{ – {b_n} > M}& \Leftrightarrow &{ – \frac{{3 – 4n}}{2} > M} \\
{}& \Leftrightarrow &{\frac{{4n – 3}}{2} > M} \\
{}& \Leftrightarrow &{n > \frac{{2M + 3}}{4}}
\end{array}\]
Conclui-se que $\forall M \in {\mathbb{R}^ + },\,\,\exists p \in \mathbb{N}:\,\,n > p \Rightarrow – {b_n} > M$.Logo, $\left( { – {b_n}} \right)$ é um infinitamente grande positivo e, consequentemente, $\left( {{b_n}} \right)$ é um infinitamente grande negativo.
Sem usar a definição:
Consideremos a função afim:
\[\begin{array}{*{20}{l}}
{f:}&{\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}} \\
{}&{x \to \frac{{3 – 4x}}{2}}
\end{array}\]
Ora, sabe-se que \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to + \infty } f\left( x \right) = – \infty \).
Como a sucessão $\left( {{b_n}} \right)$ é a restrição de $f$ ao conjunto $\mathbb{N}$, então será $\lim {b_n} = – \infty $.
Logo, a sucessão $\left( {{b_n}} \right)$ é um infinitamente grande negativo.
\[\begin{array}{*{20}{l}}
{{b_n} < – 500}& \Leftrightarrow &{n > \frac{{2 \times 500 + 3}}{4}} \\
{}& \Leftrightarrow &{n > 250,75}
\end{array}\]
